What is Portfolio?

Portfolio has lot of meaning, in investment Portfolio means Collection of financial asset such as Bonds, Share, Cash etc., most of the time it is managed by investment advisers / financial professionals, In other words asset allocation or Investment allocation.

For example Mr.Ram has 100,000 rupees money he wants to invest. He is investing Rs. 20,000 (20%) in real estate, Rs. 30,000(30%) in Government bonds, Rs. 30,000(30%) in gold and remaining Rs. 20,000(20%) in shares. The allocation of your investment in called portfolio.

Anyone can manage their own portfolio but when financial professionals maintain your portfolio you can see the difference.
